Welcome to Diamond Valley Arts Society

We are a community-led art society that has been operating in the Nillumbik Shire for over 50 years.
DVAS offers a range of art exhibitions, demonstrations, classes and workshops throughout the year. We are based in two picturesque locations - Edendale Community Environment Farm (Eltham) and The Slovenian Club (Research).
For many years now, DVAS has been a warm and welcoming place, an art hub for people of diverse creative interests.
Our mission is to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where artists of all backgrounds and skill levels can come together to explore, create, and celebrate the arts. Through our activities and events, we strive to inspire and engage both our members and the wider community, promoting a shared appreciation for the transformative power of art.

FEATURED NEWS: FREE Christmas Cards Making Workshop at DVAS
Diamond Valley Arts Society is offering a free Christmas Card Making Workshop on Thurs 19 Nov 2026 (6pm - 9pm) at the Edendale Farm. Come and meet our friendly team and make unique greeting cards.
We will think outside the (gift) box and create personalised designs for Christmas, birthday wishes, thank-you notes, or "just because" cards for any occasion that strikes your fancy. Surprise your favourite people with a unique and joyful keepsake! We are providing all the materials, most of which have been rescued and reclaimed to give them a second life. Christmas is one of the most waste-intensive times of the year. To reduce holiday waste, you are encouraged to bring leftover paper, wrappings, ribbons, stickers, and anything sparkling to upcycle into beautiful new cards. You can take them home after the workshop or donate to our card-making supplies bank (which will be used in future sessions).
Whether you are an experienced card-maker or have never made one before, you are very welcome to join us. Simple instructions and guidance will be provided. This event is all about community, sustainability, and the joy of making something by hand.
Bring a friend and let’s make some art magic together—we can’t wait to see you there!

Edendale Community Environment Farm
DVAS Main Studios are situated at the Edendale Farm in Eltham. This unique location, amid serene landscapes and tranquil surroundings, offers a perfect blend of creativity and nature. We are grateful to the farm staff for making us feel welcome.
Edendale Farm staff are eligible for a 10% discount on artwork sales at our Art Shows.
We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we gather as an arts society, and pay our respects to their elders past, present and future. We extend that respect to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who may be with us on site today.
